Professional Background
Decades of Global Chemical Regulatory Leadership
I became a professional chemist in 1975 and earned my PhD in Chemistry in 1992—the same year the United Nations launched development of the Globally Harmonized System (GHS). My entire career has focused on Environmental, Health & Safety. I developed early Intelligent Authoring software for SDS creation and spent decades delivering SDSs, labels, and GHS consulting globally. Since 2022, I’ve supported clients through international teams, software licensing, regulatory notifications, advanced analytical methods, and ongoing GHS training and webinars.

Be Prepared
Strategic Preparation for GHS Revision
I am currently in discussions with all my clients to manage the implementation of Revision 7 of the Globally Harmonized System (GHS) in Canada and the United States. These discussions include strategic planning around Safety Data Sheets (SDSs) and labeling to determine the impact and to plan how to comply during the different transition periods in each of the two countries.
